It services

To all UoC students,

IT Services are creating a new single place on the web to connect to Student systems. There is also a mobile App for phones.

You only need to sign in once to the Portal, and thereafter you just click through to your email, Blackboard, etc. without needing to sign on again

Its due to go live in June, and we want Students to spend a few hours testing it on different combinations of:

  • Device: Phone/Kindle/Tablet/UoC PC/UoC Laptop/Home Pc/Home laptop
  • Network connections: UoC wired network from IT room PC - UoC Wi-Fi (3 types) - Home Wi-Fi - Hall of Residence Wi-Fi - Mobile Phone networks
  • Browsers: Safari – IE – Edge – Chrome – Firefox - Opera

We want to see if you can spot any problems, but also want to get your general feedback on the look, feel and usability of the system

We will give you a set of “Journeys” through the system we want you to carry out, and a list of questions to answer

The work will be split between:

  • a specific 3hour session on your campus in May
  • a small amount at home or while travelling, plus responding quickly to a few emails – we will pay an extra hour for this
  • a possible further 2 hour session in June, week beginning 31 May
