UNIVERSITY OF CUMBRIA STUDENTS’ UNION SHORTLISTED FOR PRESTIGIOUS

 INVESTORS IN PEOPLE AWARDS 2015

 

Cumbria & North Lancashire based charity the University of Cumbria Students’ Union (UCSU) has been named as a leader in people management practice globally, having been shortlisted in the Gold Employer of the Year category in the second annual Investors in People Awards.

 

The Awards, which received over 400 entries internationally, celebrates the best people management practices amongst Investors in People accredited businesses. Winners are announced at a spectacular awards ceremony and dinner at Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress, the Tower of London, on 24th June 2015. Finalists represent the best of the best worldwide.

 

University of Cumbria Students’ Union was shortlisted for its particular achievements in building a strong empowerment and enabling culture with a genuine depth of engagement and collaboration across the team.

 

The 15 Awards categories recognise the accredited organisations that have achieved the highest standards. There are a range of Awards categories, focusing on the main elements of what it means to be an Investor in People, from Excellence in Leadership and Management to Excellence in Social Responsibility to Leader of the Year and Best Newcomer. The Awards provide the opportunity to benchmark against high performing organisations globally.

We recently achieved Investors in People 'Gold' status which demonstrates our commitment to excellence in all areas of our operation, and exceeding the expectations of our members with a skilled and well supported staff & officer team.  We're a close-knit, passionate team - dedicated to enhancing the student experience of our members.  Our new Gold status and shortlisting for these Awards reflects the enthusiasm and commitment of our team.  As we embark on a new 4 year strategic plan, our aim is to further develop the reach of UCSU, and the role we can play in providing opportunities for our members that will enhance their experience, skills and employability.
