The UCSU gardens at the Fusehill Campus are getting to a state of disrepair, and little marketing can be found about any gardening society or group to improve them. The flowerbeds have alot of room for nice plants which is taken up by large, unorganised mostly dead plants, and spring is coming, so it is a good time to do work on them despite the bad weather. Many plants can be planted in this time of year with quick and beautiful results.

A low workload way to maintain the gardens could be to produce posters with information about existing gardening groups, and how to join in for people to contribute to the care of the gardens in their own time. For more controlled results it may be a good social event. It could be run as a weekly event where people do a few hours of gardening together and get a meal at the end, such as pizza, to encourage attendance. The marketing for a weekly gardening group could promote it as a way to wind down from academic stress and meet new friends, as it is a hobby with many benefits.
