Eco Gardens

Actions speak much louder than words, so get involved! Grow your own fruit and veg; design and maintain your student garden; encourage wildlife in your area.

Over the past few years we have worked to develop a number of Student Gardens over our main campuses, Carlisle, Ambleside and Lancaster! These gardens are now the proud property of the Grow Your Own society! If you fancy getting involved you can join the Group here!

The Gardens

Our Fusehill Street Campus (Carlisle) Gardens are really taking shape, situated just behind the Calva bar; they are open for all to enjoy.

Our Ambleside Campus Gardens are just as productive this year! Situated outside the Halls of residence on Nook Lane, these gardens are for everybody to use and get involved in. The School of forestry will also be using this space to grow saplings!

Our Lancaster Campus allotment is a great space, with a Greenhouse, Polytunnel, and lots of outdoor space. We're always open to new ideas of what to plant- our polytunnel enables us to plant some more exotic varieties, so please get in touch if you have any ideas!

If you'd like to get involved in the gardens - growing your own fruit and veg, helping us to maintain the spaces, or just fancy coming along with us and making some new friends, email Donna on donna.salter@cumbria.ac.uk
