Blimy, that month went by incredibly quickly - a bit too quick for my liking. To think we have started and finished the month with a long weekend! Where do I begin?

THE WEATHER, how beautiful has it been lately, its really coming into spring now!! I decided that I was to have multiple days outside in the sun for my meetings and whatnot. Word of warning: prepare yourself for when the sun goes in or when the wind picks up. This Southerner cant hack it!

The BRIT 2021 Challenge is coming!! This is a feel-good fundraiser supporting young adult mental health and fitness. We need you to get involved in any way you can! Hula hooping to running! Your daily walk or cycle to work, the countless home workouts, gardening and days in the hills! Find out more here: https://my.cumbria.ac.uk/Student-Life/News-and-Events/BRIT-2021-Challenge/

The majority of my month has been planning, preparing and presenting groups and societies training. When I have been to training sessions before, I always enjoyed the interactive and discussion styled sessions. But ohh my, I never realised how much work goes into making an informative and interactive session! Kudos to the people who do this on the regular! We have provided some of the training so far, but there is still more to come… Keep your eyes peeled on Teams and your emails for more in September :D

Welcome WEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKK!!!!! The planning has commenced and wowie there’s a lot to do! From helping facilitate ideas for more student led events, designing our own and getting external companies involved, for a relaxed but interactive week for ALL! Yes, we are look at you too 2nd and 3rd years… I can’t spill the beans too much, but the cocktail/mocktail night might be coming back with Crow man and Frog girl! – don’t forget, we are not experts!

My lunches have been taken up this month with more learning and I’m loving it! NUS has held some amazing talks as part of their ‘Lunch and Learns’. I got the joys of going to People: How can SU's innovate and re-invigorate staff to respond to the future, post-COVID work environment; Democracy: Citizens’ Assemblies – a starter’s guide; Communications: Simple and Momentum building Communications (THIS WAS RAN BY Tatton Spiller the founder of Simple Politics. Molly and I were like little fangirls hahaha); Sustainability: What happens next, now we have declared a climate emergency? Can I just say WOW. I loved them, thank you NUS!!!

Student Trustee applications are now OPEN!!! You know the drill by now… Have a gander here: www.ucsu.me/studenttrustee
