Photography Competition Winners
During Welcome Week, UCSU launched a competition to find out what our members loved about their local area and why they thought particular images captured the feel of the area.
Each winner received a £25 Amazon voucher and their work will grace each cover of The Squealer magazine this year. Take a look at their fabulous work below!

I took this picture at 'the weeping window' at Carlisle Castle last year. It was lovely to see so many folk out admiring the display and taking a moment to spare a thought for our servicemen and women.
Lancaster - Bryden Carlos
Artist’s statement:
It shows the most popular landmark in Lancaster, Ashton Memorial, and is a great place for students to go relax and unwind during the sunny days.
London - Lucy Tapson

This shows that within London there are areas which intertwine the natural landscape with the concrete jungle we know as London.
