Quiet place to eat

As one of the many students with a sensory processing disorder, I can understand the struggles of students with SPD and ASD in finding a suitable place to eat lunch, or just generally have a space to relax in between lectures. The dining areas are very busy and chaotic, noisy and have harsh lighting. The only quiet place is the quiet study spaces in the library, but we cannot eat here. My suggestion, is a quiet place to eat, with no pressure to socialise while eating, which can also be a place to just sit and have some headspace in between lectures.

Great idea, Diane, and not only for SEN. It is a more pleasant eating experience if you don't have to shout across a table to be heard. The acoustics are horrendous.

As someone with a hearing problem I find the view very problematic!

Sounds perfect and much needed. Somewhere relaxing to sit and eat (or nap!) without noise or lots of people buzzing about (am getting old I think!). Great idea Di :-)

Fabulous idea and a much needed space πŸ™ In this day and age this should be standard. Let’s hope this comes off, lovely lady x
