Success Awards Winners!
University of Cumbria Students’ Union Success Awards return for a 5th year to celebrate the achievements of students & staff from throughout the University of Cumbria community.
The fifth annual UCSU Success Awards took place on 17th March 2016 at the Shap Wells Hotel, near Penrith. A formal reception and three course dinner was served before the awards ceremony. University Vice Chancellor Professor Peter Strike and Registrar & Secretary Neil Harris both made introductory speeches in which they recognised the contribution of the Students’ Union to the student experience, and congratulated UCSU’s Chief Executive Daryl Ormerod for his commitment and leadership over the last 8 years. Daryl has recently been offered the position of CEO at Keele University Students’ Union, and leaves UCSU during the Easter holidays.
A highlight of the academic year, the event was attended by over 120 students, staff, friends and guests of the University. The Success Awards aim to celebrate the successes and achievements of the students and staff that make the University of Cumbria community such a special place to learn and work.
