Carlisle World shop is a small Fairtrade cooperative which exists to bring Fairtrade products into the Carlisle community. We do this by stocking 100% beautiful Fairtrade products from numerous suppilers all over the world, supporting communities that were previously living in poverty. We recruit and train volunteers from all over the city, to gain experience in different aspects of the shops activities, from general retail, events organisation to outreach work within the fairtrade, sustainability sector- while working in partnership with a number of organisations across Carlisle. We're a small and friendly group of people, working for a good cause!

Generally volunteers do either a morning shift from 9.45am-1.00pm or an afternoon shift from 1.30pm-5.15pm, once a week, but we'll work with whatever schedule is best for you.
Tasks involve greeting customers and ringing up their purchases, restocking shelves, pricing new items we get in, cleaning and tidying when needed, and other odd-jobs.
In down-time when there aren't any customers you're welcome to read or do homework.
We're looking for volunteers who love helping people and believe that everyone deserves to make a fair living in a fair working environment.
