Extenuating Circumstances and Coronavirus

2020.04.01 anyone can get it 1x1

Are you due to submit work over the coming weeks, but you’re worried your work has been affected by the situation with Coronavirus?

The University of Cumbria has changed its rules around extenuating circumstances, and they’ve put extra things in place to make the process simpler:

· Longer extensions are now available to you (you will need to contact your programme team to discuss this)

· A wider range of circumstances can now be considered for ECs

· You don’t need to provide independent evidence with your EC claim if you’re not able to find any.

We strongly encourage students to apply for ECs if they think their work has been affected. You can find all the information here, and we’re here to support you if you have any questions. You can email us as suadvice@cumbria.ac.uk, or book an appointment at www.ucsu.me/support.

The deadline for applying for ECs is five working days after the submission date – so don’t leave it too late!
