Molly's Friday Update: Week 4

Hi again!

Happy Friday everyone <3

This week has been a weird one for me. Yesterday was the anniversary of my friend’s death, so I have been looking after my mental health and trying to take lots of breaks (this is very hard for me). However, it has had me thinking about conversations we should be having, especially in a University setting, where many people discover for the first time that they are struggling with their mental health. I want to facilitate these conversations and encourage others to do the same. International Men’s day is coming up soon and I hope we can use that day to prompt these discussions, as well as engraining them into the actions from my manifesto.

Earlier in the week we knuckled down and, as a team, we have planned a really exciting virtual Welcome Week that is soon to be released! I am pleased to announce that I will be hosting some wellbeing related activities every morning, as part of Molly’s Good Mood Mornings! We have also got some exciting events hosted by students & groups and some activities that will get you out & about. Can’t wait to see you there, even if it’s through a screen <3

The liberation networks have also had our focus this week. I’d just like to shout out to the people involved in the Disability Network, who have really blown us away with their efforts already! I wanted to encourage the others to get up and running too, so I have contacted the current members and will be linking them up next week. You’re also likely to see a lot more promotion of these networks in the coming weeks.

See you on Monday and have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you,

Molly
