The last Friday before Welcome Week! Who’s excited?! We are!

This week, Rachel and I have been organising the final details for the book club. Through discussions with a couple of students, I think it is safe to say that I sense a new society forming soon! If this is something you might be interested in, make sure you come along to the event and we can get the ball rolling. This is one of our Welcome Week events and part of Molly’s Good Mood Mornings – it will be Friday 25th September at 10 am. Don’t worry if you can’t make it, just send me a message and we’ll make sure you aren’t left out of future plans!

On that note, don’t forget to check out the rest of the Molly’s Good Mood Morning events. These are a great way to get you moving and your brain working before your introductory course sessions! The week is full of important information, new experiences, and more, so make sure you’re getting the best start to each day, whether it’s through these events or your own methods. <3

It was National Eczema Week this week and I wanted to say a huge thank you so everyone that showed the love on my post on Monday. Also, I special thank you to those of you who were brave enough to share your own stories. This all really meant a lot to me.

Since then, in true eczema style, I’ve had a flare-up on my face. Great. But your stories and words of wisdom have encouraged me to get some proper, long-term support. Part of this decision has also come from the research I have been doing this week – I found out that what I’ve been using to wash is no longer recommended for people with eczema!

Behind the scenes, I’ve also been writing my first committee paper. This is for the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Working Committee and has been a great opportunity to reflect on the work of the Students’ Union so far and what we can do to be better. This opportunity for reflection is shaping our ideas for Black History Month too. We’ve been looking at previous years and realised that this is something that hasn’t had the attention it deserves, but this year it will. We want it to be bigger and better than ever. But, most of all, we want to facilitate your ideas – please do get in touch with any of us, whatever your idea is.

That’s all for this week, who knows what to expect next week. But I’m sure it’ll be a blast!

Loves & hugs

x
