This year the opening night of the Cumbria Institute of the Arts Degree Show has been moved from the previous years Saturday night to Friday night. This change was made in order to attract more businesses to show interest in the university. This change will mean that the show will NOT be accessible on the weekend anymore.

By making this change it excludes a lot of people from being able to experience the exhibitions, as the opening times are within traditional working hours. Students' family members may not be able to visit the Degree Show because of work commitments and travelling times, as some will have to travel far. Furthermore, visitors from the general public, local businesses and new- and prospective students will not have the opportunity of experiencing the artwork being produced at our university.

If we can get enough people to sign this petition, we might be able to convince the executives to open the Degree Show up to the public on the weekend.
