Regualtions for 'new build' student car park in Ambleside need to be changed!

Ambleside campus, in 2016 extended their accommodation by adding 7 new buildings each housing between 9 and 11 students each. In addition to this a new 30 bay car park has been built and fully accessible to students for the past 3 academic years. Recent changes in regulations (beginning 19th June 2019) have caused problems for that area and other students on campus.

These regulations have prohibited students from parking on this car park at reasonable times or at all. The new conditions are: NO parking AFTER 4PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. This only leaves 2 full days for students to park their car near their houses, which isn’t the weekend. There apparently has been an email sent out to students that live at halls (which mainly includes first years). The email states "Parking in Fell court car park adjacent to the new halls will no longer be available to students or staff." Which, may I add, is completely different to what I have been told from Rob Wilson (Ambleside Campus Manager).

This needs to change because it is a ridiculous term and condition for using the student car park.

It also affects students like myself, who cannot currently drive, but have visiting family members who require the use of the car park when i'm moving in or out of halls! Because of the new terms they will have to pay to park in Rydal Road car park up the road, and we will have to make repeated trips carrying heavy stuff all the way back to the car! The new terms are rediculous!

Sorry, let me rephrase the conditions: after 4pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. No parking ALL DAY on Saturday and Sunday! Since the regulations have commenced, the car park has been deviod of cars every time I have walked passed. Does it not seem like a waste of time and money that the car park is not being used at all!

So if we are unable to park on the university accommodation where are we supposed to park, are they going to change the rules on the other two car parks on campus that open to the public or is that going to stay the same?? How is this going to affect the students that have to commute from outside of ambleside.
