EVENT SUCCESS

I am delighted to announce that the Autumn Events have been a success and are continuing to come to fruition.
Following on from the successes of early September, it was time to keep the momentum of UCSU visibility and student wellbeing alive through activity and engagement during the cold and crisp month of October.
Throughout the month, I, along with every other officer on the team, gathered feedback from students to pass on to various staff within UCSU. This helped us pinpoint different areas of student life that are going well and those that could be improved. It also led to many fun conversations and interactions that allowed me to get to know more of the Fusehill community. As someone who studied and has come from Brampton Road, it’s always important — and honestly really enjoyable — to get to know a new place and the people in it.
In October, I made it my mission to advertise our Pumpkin Carving events across all the Northern campuses and travel to each of them to engage with students. It was great to give everyone a bit of crafty downtime and the chance to create their own pumpkins to celebrate the Halloween spirit.
Then came the Ghost Tour, which proved incredibly popular — full of scares, laughs, and, surprisingly, quite a bit of ghostly activity!
Finally, S’mores and Sparkles brought students together to enjoy some sweet treats while watching the bonfire display — a cosy and cheerful way to round off the month.
The current on going events is the Sexual Health Clinic Visits across Carlisle and Lancaster. Where with the support of Lancashire Sexual Health Clinic and Carlisle’s Solway clinic we are able to provide advice, protection and testing for the students on the comfort of their retrospective campus.
The Next events set are the Winter Warmer Events and Gift Drives. An evening of cheer and hot drinks!
