Your voice

UCSU Officers

Meet your officers

UCSU is led by 7 elected Student Officers, chosen by students across all campuses. They represent your interests and concerns in key university meetings, strategic committees and decision-making spaces — academic policy, student wellbeing, campus facilities and more — so your voice is heard at every level of the institution.

Ways to have your say

However you like to get involved, there's a way in — from a five-minute idea to a voluntary rep role.

Student ideas

Got an idea to make student life better? Share it with us. Every idea submitted goes to your Campus Life Committee, where student reps and officers discuss it and decide how to take it forward.

Campus forums

Once each term on every campus, Campus Forums bring all students together with the Students’ Union and the University. Share your feedback, celebrate what’s working well, and help shape positive changes to student life.

Representation Tuesdays

Once a month we visit a different campus to chat about all things representation. Share feedback, get involved in volunteering, pitch a campaign idea, or simply ask a question.

How you can have your say

  • Submit your ideas for change through UCSU — big or small
  • Vote on other students’ ideas to show your support
  • Elect your student representatives to make change on your behalf
  • Talk to your Course Rep or Campus Rep to raise issues or suggestions
  • Stand for election as a Part-Time Officer, Full-Time Officer or Student Trustee
  • Take part in campaigns, forums and feedback sessions

We’re listening

Our team of elected officers and reps are here to represent your interests, fight for the changes you care about, and make sure the student voice is at the heart of every decision — both at UCSU and across the University of Cumbria.

So don’t stay quiet. Speak up, get involved, and make your voice count.
