Academic Lead Officer

The academic lead represents students on all academic matters, including teaching, assessments, and feedback. They work closely with university staff and reps to improve the academic experience. Their role ensures that student voices are heard in key decisions, helping shape policies and practices that affect learning, course quality, and academic support across all campuses and courses.

Wellbeing Lead Officer

The Wellbeing Lead focuses on mental health, student support, and welfare. They campaign for better services, raise awareness of key wellbeing issues, and ensure the university takes student wellbeing seriously. They work to create a safe, inclusive environment where all students feel supported, valued, and empowered to access the help they need during their time at university.

EDI Officer

The EDI Officer champions equality, diversity, and inclusion across the university. They represent under-represented and marginalised groups, raise awareness and campaign for change. Their role ensures all students feel seen, heard, and valued while pushing the university and UCSU to be more inclusive, accessible, and actively committed to tackling discrimination, bias, and inequality in all areas.

Mature Students Officer

The Mature Students Officer represents the voices of students who are returning to education later in life. They work to highlight and address the unique challenges mature students face. Their role includes building a strong support network, campaigning for accessible services, and helping ensure mature students feel included, represented, and supported throughout their university journey.

Online Learner Officer

The Online Learner Officer supports those studying remotely or through distance learning. They raise issues affecting online learners, work to improve access to services and resources, and ensure online voices are included in decision-making. Their role helps create a connected and inclusive community so online students feel fully part of university life and the student experience.

Social Officer

The social officer works to bring students together through events, campaigns, and activities. They help build a sense of community by organising inclusive opportunities to meet others, celebrate student life, and get involved. Their role ensures there's something for everyone, whether on campus or online, and that social experiences are fun, meaningful, and accessible to all students.
