It’s been a while hasn’t it? This month has been a bit of a weird one where I feel like I have done absolutely nothing – yet looking back on everything it seems I have accomplished a lot. Does anyone else feel like this sometimes?

The beginning of the month watched me rack up the miles on my bike – 79 in total! I don’t know where this energy came from and I sure don’t have it anymore! This was all for part of MOVEmber, a challenge within the university to make your way from London to Carlisle to raise awareness for men’s mental health and suicide prevention. Alongside this, I have worked with Brandon on their talk show ‘You’ve been a great help’, which went live on International Men’s Day. Both Danny (UCSU’s CEO) and Frank (UCSU’s Student Voice facilitator) were interviewed. There was a TWIST for the final interviewee! But I’m not going to sayyyyyyyy- you’re just going to have to watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DP18ERTHXY

Me and Molly (your Welfare Officer) have improved our CV’s once again! We can now tick off and congratulate ourselves for passing: First Aid AND Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence training. WOOHOO! With these under my belt I feel I can support and represent our student population even more. Thank you UCSU and Tender for giving me these opportunities.

The rest of the month has used most of my time to find, interview and recruit an External Trustee and 2 Student Trustees. Thank you to all the applicants who applied, we really enjoyed meeting and getting to know you. But a big CONGRATULATIONS to the successful applicants – unfortunately I can’t name names… But we can’t wait to start working with you!

I NEARLY FORGOT!! Edit: remebered this when I was adding the photo to the article... Well being packs and Food bank boxes! They are ready, they are packed, some are delivered and we are waiting for u! Please let us know how you think we have done, if there is anything that could make it better! We hope you have enjoyed the wellbeing packs during lock down, a little gift from us to you to say THANK YOU!

Well I guess that’s everything. Now that I have written it down, it seems not to be as much as I thought; but my goodness, it has taken some time!

-Hit the road, happy Toad x
