Advanced severe weather flooding alerts are in place across Northern England and Southern Scotland. 

We advise all students in any affected areas to follow the advice of  emergency services  - Local Police, Environment Agency and follow live updates from your local BBC Radio stations

To any students living  in private accomodation and that have been evacuated  - Please follow emergency service advice and instructions.

Police have advised residents not to travel unless absolutely necessary.

The University's Vice Chancellor has recently released a statement on the University website.   All campuses will be closed today (7th December 2015), including UCSU offices. Please continue to check the University's social media and website communications for updates. UCSU will try to keep you updated with all the latest information as we hear it via Facebook and Twitter.
