#CumbriaVotes2019 Elections
The main goal of the UCSU is to represent you and your ideas. One of the biggest ways that we do this is hold elections to elect representatives to the panel and the Officer Team.
The panel is made up of 27 students that represent the voices of different student groups on our campuses, for example, we have representatives for each campus, an LGBTQ+ rep, returners to education rep and many more. You can find a full list of the opportunities here.
Members of the panel are elected for one year and get together a number of times throughout this period to discuss issues and make decisions about your time at university.
In the panel meetings, they will seek to look at any ideas that you have submitted, some of which will be passed onto the UCSU Officers to action. They will also challenge the work that the UCSU Officers have been doing to make sure that it is in your best interests.
The UCSU Officers are three UoC students or recent graduates who are elected by you into the roles of Community and Partnership, Welfare and Support and finally Academic Officer. They are here to represent you at all levels in the university, act on the decisions made by the Panel and much more. This is why UCSU needs you! We need candidates for this year’s Panel and Officer Team and if you have got what it takes we want to hear from you. Nominations are now open and if you want to help change the face of the university then nominate yourself or someone you think would be awesome in the role!
We will train up anyone who is elected to equip you to bring about the change you want to implement so never fear. Nominations are from the 1st of January and will remain so until midday on Friday 15th February 2019.
