Turn Penrith Purple

Penrith purple

Two University of Cumbria students on placement with Eden Mencap are helping to facilitate the project #turnpenrithpurple. The initiative is to raise awareness of Polio and the importance of Polio vaccinations.

They need your help! Can you knit? Crochet? Or do you have any spare balls of purple wool lying around? At the end of February when the purple crocuses are in full bloom, Penrith will be yarn-bombed, turning it purple. In order for this to happen, donations of purple wool (either in balls, or knitted into squares or strips) are needed.

Any donations can be dropped off at the UCSU office on the Fusehill Street campus, or to Eden Arts at the old fire station in Penrith. More information about the project can be found on the facebook page.
