It has been brought to our attention that some University of Cumbria students are being victimised online through a concept which is being referred to as “slut-shaming”. Photos of students are being shared along with derogatory comments which is a form of bullying.

We would like to make it clear that at UCSU we condemn this type of activity – both the activity itself and the terminology which is being used. We do not tolerate bullying of any kind. If you have seen this activity taking place, please report it immediately to one of our UCSU offices, or by emailing SUAdvice@cumbria.ac.uk. If you have been a victim of this activity and would like further support, please contact our student support team by booking a telephone appointment online, or by emailing SUAdvice@cumbria.ac.uk.

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind you about the Student Code of Conduct, and Student Social Media Policy.
