UCSU shortlisted for Students' Union of the Year!
For the second year in a row, UCSU has been shortlisted for Students' Union of the Year at the Educate North & UK Leadership Awards 2017.
Educate North & UK Leadership Awards and Conference, in association with The Telegraph Media Group is a prestigious one-day conference and high profile awards event, which will celebrate, recognise and share best practice and excellence in the education sector in the North.
The Students’ Union of the Year award seeks to celebrate an outstanding Students’ Union as part of a higher or further education institute. Judges will be looking for evidence of innovation, engagement, support and an exceptional student experience within the North of the UK.
The UCSU submission focused on several different areas in order to highlight our achievements and areas of progression. One of these was representation of students, specifically The Panel and the positive outcomes that they have achieved. Another area was increased engagement on the Ambleside campus, with staff committing to working from the campus on a regular basis and several Ambleside specific events being held throughout the year.
UCSU are competing against Chester, Leeds Trinity and Newcastle University Students’ Unions who have also been shortlisted in this category.
We would also like to say congratulations to University of Cumbria who have been shortlisted for the Employer Engagement Award.
Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in Manchester on Thursday 27th April – wish us luck!
