September & October Update
Hello everyone, the bushcraft committee would like to officially welcome you to the bushcraft society. We will be bringing you regular updates with the society and all things bushcraft.
Where are we now?
We are going strong with currently 21 members (which is almost 1 member in every 20 students) which is very impressive and makes us one of the biggest societies on campus!

Knife validation
Monday 16th October - 1pm - 3pm @ stores
Tickets are live!
We can only have 10 people attend so please confirm your attendance by booking your free ticket here.
This workshop is ran as an inhouse validtion to enable individuals to be trained to a safe standard on: knife law, use and skill, while practicing your whittling skills.
Deer rut
Tuesday 17th October - 4:30am - 9am
Tickets sold out
We will be meeting at stores @4:30 am so please bring everything you need. You will need to come prepared with sufficient warm clothing, hat & gloves, headtorch, waterproofs (to keep the rain/wind off) and any viewing equipment you may wish top bring e.g. binoculars/camera (Binoculars can be borrowed from the stores)
You may wish to bring a hot drink & some comforting snacks. You can find more information here.
Animal butchery

Thursday 26th October - 5pm - 6:30pm @ bushcraft area
Join us for an amazing one off session where we will be buchering an animal for food and other recources, making full use of the carcas, most likley grey squirel or fish. We will be butchering an animal from scratch using knifes from our stores. Individuals may need to be knife validated to attend this event. You can find more information here.
Campfire cooking/social
Thursday 26th October - 6:30pm - late
Come along to our campfire cookout/ social!
This event will take place directly after the animal butchery as a follow-demonstration, talking through the different ways to cook on open fires and we will be providing a vegan hotpot for everyone to try.
As well as being a demonstration you are more than welcome to join just to gather around the fire and have a few drinks or bring some food of your own to cook on the fire. You can find more information here

The Bushcraft Show
The bushcraft show tickets have gone live! There are discounted tickets with it being 30% until October 31st. You can find tickets here.
Manufacturing knifes from human feces

Bushcraft area renovation
We are looking for keen volunteers to assist the Biodiversity for Campus group who are organising the renovation of our beloved bushcraft area. We will be doing a general tidy up of the area, crafting benches, setting up the parachute line & other generaljobs. We currently do not have a timeframe for this but If your interested let us know by DM our Facebook & insta.

Merch Launch
The bushcraft committee is proud to announce that we will be launching some society merch. The merch launch will go live in November so watch this space!
Meet your committee
We will be hosting a event where you can meet your committee and ask all thoseburing questions and get to know us. At this event we will also be giving out the wooden placemats for all of our members & modeling our new merch.
