Adam - getting to know you

Name: Adam Davies

Job Role: Ambleside Campus community development officer

What did you do before UCSU?

For the last 5 years I have been studying at the Ambleside campus; completing a BA in Outdoor leadership and an MA in outdoor and experiential learning.  Whilst studying I worked up and down the country within security management, supervising large staff deployments around some of the UK’s most major festivals. During the spring and winter periods, I followed my passion for the outdoors working in various outdoor pursuits centres.

Can you tell us a little about you?

As you can probably tell I love the outdoors and being anywhere wild. When I am not in the hills or out on a lake you will find me in a gym powerlifting or eating pizza.

What do you do at UCSU?

My role at UCSU is to make sure that you have the best experience possible while you are at university. I do this by improving the vibrancy of the campus, liaising with the university and its faculty, and working alongside the local community to constantly progress. As I am the only UCSU member of staff based solely in Ambleside I also assist my colleagues with the facilitation of information surrounding volunteering, student groups and student support.

What do you love most about your job?

The uniqueness of every student and their spontaneous nature
