Should UCSU have a puppy? YES!

Having an SU puppy would give students an oppourtunity to de-stress and so will be great for mental haelth around exam and dissertation times. Also, puppies make students happy and so there will be a positive impact on students.

I would suggest that the panel ask UCSU to work on getting permissions and seeing if it is possible for UCSU to get a puppy :)

This doesn't address where the dog will live, who will be responsible for its welfare. This animal isn't just a tool for people to distress, it is a sentient, emotional, living breathing animal. Perhaps just getting someone to bring their dog in is a better idea.

There is a volunteer service Pets as Therapy http://petsastherapy.org/ Whilst there is potential for dogs to be used by UCSU, the organisation actively owning a dog is a different matter which requires a lot of thought.
