Heathlands Values:
The Heathlands team is the beating heart of Heathlands; we’re established, skilled and qualified individuals with specialist skills which enable us to offer an ever-changing range of activities and opportunities.
We’re located on an idyllic semi-rural site surrounded by woodland and fields. We have extensive gardens, woodland walks suitable for wheelchair use and pleasant shaded seating areas.
Heathlands has versatile indoor spaces offering cosy quiet areas, bustling group environments, specialised learning areas, including a kitchen equipped to professional standards, a music room and a digital suite. We frequently make use of community resources including community centres, sport and leisure facilities, cafes and the outdoors.
Heathlands offers the highest degree of dignity with contemporary, bespoke personal care facilities, including a wet room.
Our history
In March 2007, the then titled Glenmore Opportunities moved to the farm and Heathlands was born. Over the coming years, buildings were redeveloped and extended, opportunities were expanded until, in 2013 a new charity, Laurie Brewis Trust took the helm. As an independent charity the organisation has continued to flourish and now offers an unparalleled variety of choice for the individuals we support.
Heathlands is looking for pro-active student volunteers to help support day service members at the centre.
Previous catering experience is not required as the most important aspect is socialising and having fun! Cooking sessions run 4 days a week and more information is available on request.
Heathlands is open through the holidays, so if you are planning on staying over the Summer this could be a perfect opportunity to develope your CV and specific cooking, care and / or proffessional skills.
