Carlisle Carers is an independent, local charity and network partner of Carers Trust.
We provide a range of services to support and enhance the lives of unpaid carers of all ages throughout the city and the north east of Cumbria
A carer is someone who, without payment, provides help and support to a parent, partner, child, relative, friend or neighbour, who could not manage without their help. This could be due to age, physical or mental illness, substance misuse or disability.
There are over 12,000 of carers throughout the area Carlisle Carers cover and many don’t think of themselves as carers, nor do they realise that help is available.
Most juggle, work, school or other commitments along with their caring role, many face emotional and financial difficulties. They have often given up their income, education or employment prospects or pension rights to care for someone. Taking on a caring role can lead to feelings of isolation, frustration, depression and can result in ill health.
We are looking for somebody with Film and Video experience to help us film a series of short films with a group of young carers.
This is a good opportunity to practice skills learnt and see them being used to support the aims of our Charity.
Minimum commitment level: Once a month
Start Date: 21-08-2020
