These awards are open are set up to recognise the contributions that group activity and group leaders make to to the social and academic experience of students at Cumbria.

Leadership Award

Award Description

Groups would not exist without the dedication of the students who set aside the time to run them! This award is for a committee member who has consistently shown effort by doing tasks that have enabled events.

Who can nominate students for this award?

Students in a group including leaders and UCSU Wellbeing Officer & Groups Coordinator

Grassroots Award

Award Description

The Award aims to recognize a group that has emerged this year and has come out running and had a big impact this year. This could be by growing its membership or by providing regular activities from the start.

Students in a group including leaders and UCSU Wellbeing Officer & Groups Coordinator

Sporting Achievement Award

Award Description

This Award is for the sporting group that has had the most success and achievement this year. This could be in terms of competitive wins or in terms of providing skill and/or team work development as well as enjoyment to its members.

Who can nominate groups for this award?

Sporting group members and leaders only + Sport Centre University staff

Group Star

Award Description

The work of a UCSU Officer is not easy, but sometimes it is guided and shaped by the inspiration of a student they have met during their term of office. This award was created to recognize just that!

Who can nominate groups for this award?

Wellbeing Lead Officer

Shining Light Award - Group

Award Description

This award is given to a student who has shown exceptional talent and has been able to make a positive impact not just to their own  but to that of others. They may have had to overcome personal or academic barriers but despite this, they worked steadily on to achieve their goal.

Who can vote for this award?

Any student or staff of the University of Cumbria

REP AWARDS

These awards are for Class Representatives who have made a positive contribution to the student experience of their course. This could be by actively campaigning for a change, by supporting and listening to others or generally by being someone who has tangibly and regularly strived to make a difference.

Learning Guru Award

Award Description

This award recognises a Class Rep who has made the most of the training and resources available to increase their skills and knowledge.

Who can nominate Class Reps for this award?

This award is given based on records of training engagement kept by UCSU.

Golden Voice Award

Award Description

Class Reps make an impact by working with academic staff to bring about positive change to the course experience of their peers. The Golden Voice award recognises those Class Reps who have made an exceptional impression on UoC staff.

Who can nominate Class Reps for this award?

University of Cumbria teaching staff.
