Groups, Societies and Networks

Often, one of the best experiences people have at university is being a member of a student group, society or network. Here at UCSU, we have a variety of groups that cover a wide range of interests and are across all campus locations, as well as a number of virtual societies. Have a look through all of them here and if you don’t see something you are interested in and have an idea for setting up a society, get in touch with us at studentgroups@cumbria.ac.uk

Volunteering

Volunteering while at university can be beneficial to both student and community! Many students volunteer as a way to get practical experience to complement their course, to make friends and get to know their local area better. The community benefits from having someone volunteering their time to make a positive difference. With the university and local organisations, we help to facilitate volunteering opportunities that meet the need of our members.

Hopefully all of your time spent at university will be brilliant, however, sometimes things go a little wrong! This is why we have our free and impartial Support Team waiting to assist you in any way that they can. The team can help with matters such as appeals, malpractice, extenuating circumstances, complaints, fitness to practice and more. If you ever need the team's help, you can book an appointment at the link below.

Campus Tours

You might not have been able to tour a campus before starting at UoC due to Covid-19, you just might want a refresh on what the campus looks like or you might just want a nose at what the other campuses look like! We have listed the university's virtual tours below for you to take a peek at.
