Funding for volunteers

Overseas project funding

If you have set up or are considering to set up a project abroad that benefits the local community and that is non-commercial, there may be a chance that you could receive funding for specific project items from the Cumbria Overseas Aid Trust (COAT).

The Cumbria based charity has been supporting projects in some of poorest areas of the world for nearly 30 years. If you are a cumbrian or have a cumbrian connection, you may be able to receive funds to support your project from the Trust.

For more information about the Trust and how to apply for funding, please visit the Trust's pages here.

Setting up your own project

If you are planning to set up a volunteering opportunity which is then open to other students at the University of Cumbria, benefitting them and the local/university community, there may be funding available to help you set up your project.

As this is considered on an individual basis, please e-mail our volunteering service with broad details of what you are planning to do and they will get in touch with you to discuss any funding and other support that may be open to you.
